The following excursions are planned:

 

Monday City of Leipzig – Guided Tour

including the Market Square with the Old Town Hall, St Thomas’s Church, St Nicolas’s Church, Trade Yards, Passage Arcades (with the restaurant “Auerbachs Keller” well-known from Goethe’s “Faust”), “Zum Arabischen Coffe Baum” (the oldest coffee house in Europe), Old Stock Exchange on the Naschmarkt, Gewandhaus Concert Hall, New Town Hall, Railway Main Station.

Optional Proposal: Coffee Museum in the coffee house “Zum Arabischen Coffe Baum”, Museum of Musical Instruments, Gohlis Palace and Schiller House (in walking distance from the Westin Hotel, about 1.5 km)

Take a photographic walk to the most interesting places around the city.

 

Tuesday Excursion to Naumburg

Naumburg is one of the most beautiful towns in central Germany. Impressive old houses, the town fortifications, the magnificent market square and last but not least the world-famous cathedral bear witness to its rich history. The town is nestled in a charming cultural landscape which owes its unique character to terraced vineyards, castles and ruins still towering over the river valleys, recalling a time when the first German kings and emperors resided here.

 

Wednesday Conference Excursion to Meißen

Optional Proposals (Morning): Book Art Museum in the German National Library, St Alexei's Russian Memorial Church, Monument to the Battle of the Nations
